💡 Regla Gramatical

Los adjetivos de hecho describen cualidades reales: new, old, large, small, round, wooden.

Ejemplos:

  • “a tall young man” (tamaño → edad)
  • “a small black plastic bag” (tamaño → color → material)
  • “a large wooden table” (tamaño → material)
  • “an old white cotton shirt” (edad → color → material)

3. Patrones especiales

✔ “a black and white dress” ✘ “a black white dress”

Ejemplo: “a long blue scarf”

be, get, become, seem, look, sound, smell, taste

Ejemplos:

  • “You look tired.” (apariencia)
  • “The dinner smells good.” (olor)
  • “The tea tastes a bit strange.” (sabor)

Pero las acciones requieren adverbios:

  • “Drive carefully.”
  • “She plays the piano very well.”

5. Expresiones con first / next / last

Cuando usamos palabras de número o cantidad con estos adjetivos, el número va después de first/next/last:

  • “the first two days”
  • “the next few weeks”
  • “the last ten minutes”
